Title

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes expending $200,000 from Facility and Fleet Operations’ 2019 approved CIP funds for the repair and/or replacement of buildings and major mechanical equipment and systems due to emergency needs to repair HVAC in city facilities.  This includes the emergency needs arising from metal recycling thefts.  Funds are available for expenditure from the approved 2019 Capital Improvement Budget. 

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the sum of $200,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-26100-8CP1902HVACMA for the repair and/or replacement of HVAC and major mechanical systems at city facilities.

 

SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for labor, materials, and professional services necessary for the purposes specified in Section 1.

                     

                     SECTION 3.  That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely repair or replacement of HVAC and major mechanical systems at city facilities.
