SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The National League of Cities offers an unparalleled portfolio of benefits including learning how to save money and time, participate in educational opportunities that can help the City excel as a leader, and access creative ideas and best practices to resolve our challenges.
This ordinance authorizes the payment of $15,716.77 to the National League of Cities for the 2019 dues. Funds are available in the City Council budget for this expenditure.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $15,716.77 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-10100-537650-1112001STDSTD (Memberships and Dues), to provide payment for the 2019 dues for the National League of Cities.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw his warrant to the National League of Cities against the above mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $15,716.77 in payment of the obligation upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency is for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to provide the 2019 dues payment to the National League of Cities.
