SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has sought a contractor with the appropriate equipment to abate an immediate nuisance at the address of 532 Woodville Rd., Toledo 43605. The structure was assessed to have 3 living-units, with a commercial storefront attached; totaling 2,476 sq ft of structure space. The structure was subject to a fire and partial collapse on August 22, 2018; which resulted in an emergency order issued from the Building Official. The pile of debris contains environmental contaminates which require methodical removal from a licensed abatement company under the direction of the Ohio EPA.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and the Director of Neighborhood & Business Development are authorized to enter into an agreement with Midwest Environmental, Inc. for the abatement demolition and debris removal in an amount not to exceed $23,000.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor and the Director of Neighborhood & Business Development are authorized to expend the funds in an amount not to exceed $23,000 from Account Code 1001-56400- 5634001STDSTD-537575 for the abatement demolition and debris removal.
SECTION 3. That the appropriation not to exceed $23,000 is authorized from the unappropriated proceeds of the Demolition (In-House) Fund into Account Code 1001-56400- 5634001STDSTD-537575 ; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the purpose of the abatement demolition and debris removal.
