Title

Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a joint cooperation agreement with the Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area for the Ottawa Street sidewalk project; authorizing the acceptance, deposit, appropriation and expenditure of an amount not to exceed $16,666 from the Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area into the Capital Improvement Fund for the construction of sidewalk on Ottawa Street; authorizing the mayor to enter into contracts for said project; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Division of Engineering Services is partnering with the Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area to extend the sidewalk on the west side of Ottawa Street from the vicinity of the Oliver House to the new Middlegrounds Park in 2019.  This existing gap in the sidewalk system in this area hampers safe pedestrian access to the park.  The Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area has agreed to fund a share of the project and has committed to reimburse the City of Toledo 33% of the costs, up to $16,666, for these improvements. The City of Toledo portion of the costs will be paid for with CIP matches and planning funds.
