SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds for a contribution to the Opioid Overdose Reduction Program. Funds will be re-appropriated within the Police department’s 2018 operating budget to make this contribution this year.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo: 

 

                     SECTION 1. That the disappropriation of $35,000 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-52000-532130-3381002STDSTD and the appropriation of same is authorized to the General Fund Account Code 1001-52000-558900-3381002STDSTD for a contribution to the Opioid Overdose Reduction Program.

 

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $35,000 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-52000-558900-3381002STDSTD for a contribution to the Opioid Overdose Reduction Program through the University of Toledo Medical Center.

 

SECTION 3. That the finance director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the obligations authorized above in amount not to exceed $35,000 upon receipt of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely contribute to fight the opioid epidemic in Toledo.
