Recognizing Juliana Sample on the Occasion of her Retirement from KT/LCB.
Summary
WHEREAS, Juliana Sample began her career with "Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful" over thirty years ago in March of 1988 and as its Executive Director has remained responsible for overseeing its operations and its administration; and
WHEREAS, over the years Juliana has developed and coordinated the implementation of major aspects for the non-profit organization including identifying funding sources for programs such as the Recycling & Litter Prevention Education/Awareness Program as well as preparing & submitting grants to facilitate the organization's mission to reduce, reuse, recycle and educate; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her duties as Executive Director, Juliana has served at the state level on the Keep Ohio Beautiful Board of Directors, she has served nationally on several committees including the Coordinators Advisory Council and locally she has served on the Toledo Lucas County Sustainability Commission of which she was instrumental in its development; and
WHEREAS, Juliana has truly remained committed to Toledo, Lucas County and the Northwest Ohio region and she has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources- Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention as "Program Manager of the Year", and she has been an integral part of the Toledo Zoo Party for the Planet, the Correct Recycling Program, District Refuse Drop-Off & Recycling Events and so much more; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Juliana Sample is recognized for her many years of dedicated public service to the citizens of the City of Toledo, Lucas County and Northwest Ohio, and she is hereby wished happiness and good health as she embarks upon her retirement years.
