SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Kapszukiewicz Administration has recruited a new Director for the Department of Finance for whom the maximum annual salary of $119,129 currently authorized by Section 2101.74 of the Toledo Municipal Code for this position is not sufficient to attract that candidate. This ordinance is intended to waive the annual maximum rate of pay of TMC Section 2101.74 and allow the Mayor to award an annual salary of up to $125,000 for the Director of the Department of Finance position.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the annual maximum rate of pay for Salary Group E-4 shall be and hereby is waived for the Director-Administrative Services (Department of Finance).
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to negotiate an annual maximum salary rate for the Director-Administrative Services (Department of Finance) of an amount not to exceed $125,000 per year.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property; and that it is essential to properly attract and retain at a competitive pay rate the Director-Administrative Services (Department of Finance).
