Title
Authorizing the expenditure of $20,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the installation of a security system at the Division of Transportation building at 110 North Westwood Avenue; authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts necessary to complete said project(s); and declaring an emergency.

Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes expending $20,000 from the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget for the installation of a security system at the Transportation building. The building presently has a security system that is archaic and unserviceable. The proposed video camera system will provide for the safety and security of the division building and staff members.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the sum of $20,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-22500-8CP1426BLDSEC for the installation of a security system at the Transportation building.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely installation of security equipment.
