Recognizing Tuesday, August 14, 2018 as "Toledo Boxing Association (TBA) DAY" and urging all citizens to join in recognizing the Toledo Boxing Association for their remarkable accomplishments.
Summary
WHEREAS, with so much violence and hatred in our streets, youth are becoming involved in gangs, drugs, and stresses from daily struggles,
* TBA keeps kids off the streets and in the gym and helps them focus on the positive things in life.
* TBA has put Toledo on the map with its unique boxing program by eliminating the need for violence, and using that energy in the ring with gloves.
* TBA has become the first program to have five winners out of the same gym to win at the National Junior Olympics level including,
GOLD WINNERS
* Ryan Williams INT 95
* Izaiah Darden BM80
* Nolan Huntley BM65
BRONZE WINNERS
* Mason Huntley INT85
* Yu'shore Williams BM70
* TBA is helping these boxers fight through everyday challenges of life with a new attitude.
* TBA needs the community's support and sponsorship for these 14 youth fighters to become future olympians and pro-fighters. NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Tuesday, August 14, 2018 is hereby recognized as:
"Toledo Boxing Association DAY"
SECTION 2. That all citizens are urged to join in recognizing the Toledo Boxing Association for their remarkable accomplishments.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date allowed by law.
