SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The YWCA Northwest Ohio, fiscal agent of the local No More Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Campaign, has requested funding to sustain the local No More campaign. This is a national and global program supporting local non-profits in their efforts to reduce domestic violence and sexual assault. The goal is to raise awareness about the seriousness of domestic violence and sexual assault, publicize community resources for both the victim and batterer, reduce stigma, and reduce the number of incidents of domestic violence and sexual assault in Toledo. Foremost is the commitment to save lives.
The YWCA Northwest Ohio has requested $20,000 from the City to buy television and radio time to air the No More video. City Council desires to contribute to this most worthy cause.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to disappropriate $20,000 from Account Code 2015-16100-538900-5G37000DISAPP (Community Development Block Grant Fund).
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to appropriate $20,000 to Account Code 2015-16700-552100-5G44000STDPUB (Community Development Block Grant Fund) and the expenditure of same is authorized, for the purpose of funding a contribution to YWCA Northwest Ohio for air time for the No More video.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into any necessary agreements for the purposes listed herein subject to the terms and conditions deemed proper and requisite according to the Director of Law, not to exceed $20,000.
