SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

City Council has two (2) vehicles, a 2000 Jeep Liberty mileage 88,910 and a 2011 Dodge Nitro mileage 46,630.  A new vehicle is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable form of transportation for City Council Members and staff.  Ord. 201-18, the 2018 - 2022 CIP Plan, appropriated $30,000 for a new vehicle for City Council.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1.  That the sum of $30,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-10100-8CP1830CCVEHI for a City Council Vehicle.

                     

                     SECTION 2.  That the Mayor and is authorized to accept bids and award a contract for a City Council Vehicle.  

 

                     SECTION 3.  That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 1 in amounts not to exceed $30,000 in payment of the obligations authorized above upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4. That any remaining budget at project closeout is authorized for disappropriation.

SECTION 5.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to maintain safe and reliable transportation for City Council Members and staff.
