SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Transportation has been working closely with ODOT to secure grant dollars through a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding opportunity. The grant dollars awarded to the City require a 20% match. $640,000 maximum has been allocated by ODOT through CMAQ funds. Therefore, the City's match on the total $800,000 project is $160,000. The engineer's estimate is $701,000.

Passage of this Ordinance is required to enable the City of Toledo to accept outside funding for these projects and have it in place to help pay for these expenditures.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into and execute cooperative agreements with and to accept financial assistance from the State of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for LUC SR (Lucas County State Route) 51 (Monroe Street) Corridor Improvements upon such terms and conditions shall be approved by the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.
