Summary
WHEREAS, Jos? Rosales was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. In May 2002, Jos? enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon graduation from boot camp and Marine Combat Training (MCT), Jos? was assigned to Basic Combat Engineer Course at Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC; and

WHEREAS, upon graduation from Basic Combat Engineer Course, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 471, Detachment Bravo in Mount Clemens, Michigan. During 2015, Staff Sgt. Rosales served as the Joint Operations Chief for the Innovative Readiness Training program through the department of defense, providing leadership for over 300 personnel during the summer 2015, where the mission included the construction of four staff cabins, ADA compliant pedestrian bridge and a new dining facility for the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, professionally, Jos? currently works for Toledo Public Schools as a Career and Technology Education Student Liaison. Prior to this role, Jos? worked at The University of Toledo as an Academic Adviser. He has earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from UT, and is currently a Ph.D Candidate in the Educational Theory and Social Foundations program, where he has been highlighted in the Student Showcase for his academic achievement that includes presenting qualitative research findings that brings graduate students to engage with members of the African American and Latino communities, to create cultural competence and to help future educators learn more about the communities in which they serve; and

WHEREAS, Jos? has received honors and awards that include the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, the 20 Under 40 Community Leadership Award, Alpha...
