SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Sewer & Drainage Services was made aware of a failing sewer main near an Edison vault that could potentially cause additional damage due to the deterioration of the vault. To mitigate any further damage so Edison can make repairs to their vault, action is needed to repair the sewer main. The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) requires the expertise and equipment available through a private contractor to complete the repair (by lining the sewer main). Cost quotes were solicited from qualified contractors. Sufficient funds are available within the DPU operating budget to pay for this emergency sewer repair.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract for the purpose of sewer main repair on Lafayette Street, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and Director of Law.

SECTION 2. That the amount not to exceed $36,885 is authorized for expenditure from the Sanitary Sewer Operating Fund, Account Code 6070-37000-4000558STDSTD, for the purposes identified in Section 1.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 2 above in an amount not to exceed $36,885 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
