SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds for continued employee parking costs and authorizes the Mayor to enter into agreements as needed for said parking spaces. These agreements are for the Paramount block and 10th Street parking lots.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into agreements as needed for the purpose of securing parking spaces for City of Toledo employees working in downtown Toledo at the Toledo Municipal Court, the Safety Building and One Government Center. Said agreements shall be for a term of up to two (2) years, with the option for two one-year renewal terms and otherwise are subject to terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Law and the Director of Human Resources.
SECTION 2. That, subject to appropriation, an expenditure of $450,000 annually over the term of the agreements is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-89800-1129001STDSTD for the cost of City of Toledo employee parking in downtown Toledo.
SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines it is in the best interests of the City to waive the competitive procurement requirements of TMC Chapter 187 for the reason that there are limited parking spaces near the downtown City offices and the City has negotiated proposed agreements with parking vendors with competitive market rates.
