SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
A District Improvement Program application for $20,000 has been submitted to provide utility upgrades at Commons Park.

Commons Park hosts a number of events and is a staple community location in the Old West End. Utility upgrades will allow for more evening and winter gatherings and improvements to the community space.

The District Improvement Review Committee convened on August 1, 2024, and recommended approval of this application in an amount of $20,000. NOW, THEREFORE,

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That a sum of $20,000 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 5040-10100-8CP2222DNGPRO from the District Improvement Program for utility upgrades at Commons Park.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary contract from the District Improvement Program for the stated purposes, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Public Services and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to implement the identified...
