Recognizing Bill Hormann on his retirement.
Summary
WHEREAS, Mr. William “Bill” Hormann is recognized for his many years of contribution to the City of Toledo and Northwest Ohio Community through his award winning coverage of the news and his commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Bill has retired from his position at WTVG after an over thirty year career in the news business; and
WHEREAS, Bill and his family exemplify the American Dream of an immigrant family, with his wife having immigrated from the Philippines in 1985 and became a proud American citizen in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Bill plans to spend more time raising his twin seven year old sons, Ryan and Conner, with his wife Peverly; and
WHEREAS, Bill was nominated for 27 Regional Emmy awards, was a 10 time Emmy winner, and won the Walter Cronkite Award for political reporting and the Edward R. Murrow Award for political reporting; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hormann remembers his coverage of Toledo’s water crisis from August of 2014 as his most impactful story, he was on the air for 41 of the station’s 47 hours of coverage; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we recognize the positive impact that Mr. William “Bill” Hormann’s career has had on the City of Toledo and we wish him well in the future.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
