SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Ordinance 472-20 authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with DLZ Ohio, Inc. (DLZ) for Professional Program Management Services, and other necessary work and tasks related to the implementation of the Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Leak Detection System. Due to project delays, primarily associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting supply chain issues, the AMI project's completion timeline has been extended until the end of 2024. As a result, DLZ will need to provide the same services for the period of the contract extension and project closeout & verification process to follow. In addition, DLZ will provide additional advisory and project management assistance with the ongoing upgrade of the city billing system and the customer portal, as well as quality control and testing of the new billing environment.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to extend the existing agreement with DLZ Ohio, Inc. for the professional program management and other work and tasks relating to the full implementation of the AMI and Leak Detection System Project under such terms and conditions as are deemed acceptable by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
