Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Bay View, East Side and Windermere Pump Stations were originally built in 1922, 1929 and 1978 respectively. The Bay View Pump Station is located at the Bay View Treatment Plant and is used to pump the combined sewage to the treatment facilities at the Treatment Plant. The East Side Pump Station is the largest pump station in east Toledo and is used to pump the combined sewage from east Toledo to the Treatment Plant. The Windermere Pump Station is the largest pump station in west Toledo and is used during wet weather to pump the combined sewage from west Toledo to the Treatment Plant. Several structural, mechanical and electrical renovation projects have been completed on these three pump stations over several decades. The Pump Station VFD Replacement Projects are needed to update the electrical motor and variable frequency drive components of six (6) raw sewage pumps, two (2) at each pump station, to maintain the operational integrity of the three pump stations during dry and wet weather conditions and to maintain compliance with the Ohio EPA's NPDES discharge permit. This ordinance will provide funding from the Sewer Replacement Fund to perform design and construction services for the Pump Station VFD Replacement Projects.
