SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $79,080 for body armor from Superior Uniform Sales, Inc. The City of Toledo has a current contract with Superior Uniform Sales, Inc. for body armor. Funds for this purchase were included in the approved Capital Improvement Program budget.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the amount not to exceed $79,080 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2309POLEQP for the purchase of body armor from Superior Uniform Sales.
SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligation authorized in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $79,080 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely procure safety equipment for Toledo Police officers.
