SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Heatherdowns Pump Station (HDPS) serves as a booster station for the High Service system and supplies approximately one-third of the water for a distribution system serving about 500,000 people. The station fills the reservoir through influent control valves used when reservoir levels are low. The valves are pressure-sustaining and will automatically close if upstream pressure drops below a setpoint, protecting the system.

One Fill Valve is currently inoperable. This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of up to $100,000 from the Water Replacement Fund to replace and repair fill valves at the Heatherdowns Pump Station.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the appropriation of an amount not to exceed $100,000 is authorized from the Water Replacement Fund to Account Code 6063-32000-4UC1626STDSTD and the expenditure of the same is authorized for the Heatherdowns Pump Station Influent Valve Project.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract(s) for the Heatherdowns Pump Station Influent Valve Project, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
