SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
Ord. 70-21 authorized a two-year contract with a one-year additional option to renew with Ergometrics and Applied Personnel Research, Inc. ("Ergometrics") for entry-level recruitment, examination and physical ability services for Fire Fighters and Police Officers through Ergometrics' National Testing Network, and custom promotional written exams and/or assessment center exercises for the ranks of Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, Fire Lieutenant and Fire Captain through Ergometrics. The Ordinance authorized an expenditure of $200,000 annually for the term of the contract. The current contract with Ergometrics is set to expire on March 17, 2024. However, in order to complete written examinations and assessment centers for the positions of Fire Lieutenant and Fire Captain, the City is requesting to extend the current agreement by three (3) additional months, to June 17, 2024. Additionally, the Department has started the RFP process to review additional options prior to termination of the 3rd year of this contract.
