The CareMore Health business, which became a core part of what is now Carelon Health, was founded in 1992. It was acquired by Anthem in 2011. In 2022, Anthem Inc. reorganized and launched the “Carelon” brand to consolidate its non-insurance healthcare services businesses - including pharmacy, care delivery (like CareMore), behavioral health, and other services - under a single name.
