SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds from the Division of Solid Waste's Trust Fund for necessary development and upgrades to infrastructure at the Hoffman Road Landfill (landfill). The Landfill is subject to local, state and federal regulatory compliance requirements for operations and maintenance. Through the ordinary course of these activities, various landfill infrastructure components, including portions of the leachate and gas collection system, access and stormwater conveyance system, have deteriorated over time and are in need improvements. Supplementary funding is required to further develop and repair these items to ensure continued regulatory compliance, mitigate future compliance risks and maintain operational effectiveness.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $95,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Solid Waste Trust Fund, Account Code 2090-24500-6T23201STDSTD for the purpose of landfill infrastructure development and repairs at the Hoffman Road Landfill.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to supplement existing contract(s), accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Law and the Director of Public Service.
