SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has been awarded funding and invited to enter into a Hazardous Materials Training Grant Agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for a Hazardous Materials Training Grant to provide funding to train the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, Environmental Services Personnel, and government employees. The grant funding will provide training such as OSHA 8-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Refresher, Lithium-Ion Battery Response, and Emergency Response Awareness. This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to accept the grant and enter into an agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a Hazardous Materials Training Grant Agreement with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio upon terms and conditions approved by the Directors of Public Utilities and Law.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit grant proceeds from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio into the Operation Grants Fund, Account Code 2016-38000-6G10205STDSTD, in an amount not to exceed $15,000 to provide funding to train government employees including the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, Environmental Services personnel.

SECTION 3. That the appropriation of $15,000 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-38000-6G102...
