SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has been awarded funding and is invited to enter into a grant agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW) grant in the amount of $9,800 to be used for the purchase of Valve Exerciser Equipment. The City of Toledo has a proactive valve exercising program. The additional valve exercising equipment this grant will provide, will in turn assist exercising more valves in the distribution system. This Ordinance authorizes the mayor to accept, deposit, appropriate and expend up to $9,800 in grant proceeds from the EPA.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency for the Division of Drinking and Ground Waters upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

SECTION 2. That the mayor is authorized to accept and deposit grant proceeds from the Environmental Protection Agency in an amount not to exceed $9,800 into the Water Replacement Grant Fund, Account Code 663G-34000-4UG6523STDSTD.
