Title
Authorizing the Mayor to enter into and execute a joint cooperative agreement between the City of Toledo and Lucas County regarding orthoimagery services; authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $9,000 annually for three years, subject to future appropriations; and declaring an emergency.
Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo would like to partner with Lucas County on an annual basis to obtain aerial imagery to develop high-resolution imagery to benefit GIS users. The city currently partners with Lucas County for this service to be performed every three years. The GIS section has been researching options to obtain imagery every year, and our existing contract with Lucas County allows us to purchase imagery on the off years. This agreement will allow for the addition of this option. This imagery will provide updated aerial photos of the entire city. This data will be used to make better decisions across the city for a variety of uses, including updating aerial for all GIS maps and Cityworks base maps, and utility and road construction projects. The city had previously received quotes on its own for these services, which came in at nearly double the cost of partnering with Lucas County.
