Title
Authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement for the replacement of the City of Toledo's core switching infrastructure; authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $109,018 for said purpose; waiving the competitive bidding requirements of TMC Chapter 187; and declaring an emergency.
Body
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The existing Cisco Catalyst 6824 switches are approaching end-of-life in October 2025, prompting a proactive refresh to ensure ongoing support, enhanced performance, and long-term network stability.
The cost encompasses the planning, replacement, configuration and validation of the City's core network switches, replacing the current (3) Cisco Catalyst 6824 24-port switches with a modern, high-performance solution consisting of (2) Cisco Catalyst 9500 48-port switches and (1) Cisco Catalyst 9200L 48-port switch. The new 9200L will integrate with an existing 9200L to support management interfaces and additional copper connectivity.
