SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Divisions of Road and Bridge Maintenance and Government Affairs have successfully applied for and received funding from the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA), administering Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding, to restore the Miami Street Embankment along the Maumee River near Wilmot Street. This project will install piles to stabilize the roadway. The city of Toledo will administer the construction of the project. Matching funds have been authorized through the Division of Road and Bridge Maintenance 2026 Matches and Planning fund. Construction is expected in 2027. FEMA requires grant recipients to designate an agent to act on behalf of the City for the purposes of the grant application, agreement, and its requirements.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into and execute a cooperative agreement with and to accept and deposit an amount not to exceed $831,976 from the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) for the restoration of the Miami Street Embankment project upon such terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Transportation and the Director of Law.
