SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes appropriating and expending $1,000,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the purchase of vehicles and equipment for the Police Department. Funds are included in the proposed 2023 Capital Improvement Plan.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $1,000,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2308POLVEH and the expenditure of same is authorized for the purchase of vehicles and equipment for the Police Department.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for purchasing vehicles and equipment specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely replace...
