SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Toledo City Council desires to contribute $20,000 towards the purchase of tickets for City of Toledo employees for the July 1, 2023 Jared Anderson fight at the Huntington Center. The City Council 2023 General Fund Budget contains an appropriation of $150,000 for Destination Toledo. This ordinance authorizes the reappropriation of funds for this purchase of tickets.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the disappropriation of $20,000 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-10100-1112001STDSTD for Destination Toledo and the appropriation of same is authorized to the General Fund Account Code 1001-10100-1112001STDSTD for the purpose of purchasing tickets for City of Toledo employees for the July 1, 2023 Jared Anderson fight at the Huntington Center and further authorizing the expenditure of same.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into the necessary agreements for the purchase authorized in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines it is in the best interest of the City to waive the competitive procurement provisions of TMC Chapter 187 for the reason that the tickets are being procured on a volume-discount basis directly from the promoter for purposes of the benefit of city employees for this event.
