SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ordinance 479-20 authorized acceptance of grant funds under the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's ("OEPA") Lead Service Line Inventory and Mapping Grant. The OEPA has offered the City of Toledo additional funding as an expansion of this program, and has invited the City to enter into another grant agreement for an amount up to $50,000 to be used for the Lead Service Line Mapping Expansion Project. This ordinance authorizes the mayor to accept, deposit, appropriate and expend an amount not to exceed $50,000 in grant proceeds.

Blue Conduit, the vendor currently working under contract with the City, as authorized under Ordinance 135-21, to create and map lead service lines, can continue its work under this Expansion which will avoid delays and expense in rebidding and retraining a potentially new vendor to do this Expansion work. Blue Conduit will model and map water service lines in the parts of Lucas County that are outside of Toledo's limits but are serviced by Toledo water.
