SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo, in partnership with the Lucas County Land Bank Reutilization Corporation, Metroparks Toledo, and ConnecToledo ("Project Partners") was awarded a U.S. EPA Brownfield Community -Wide Assessment grant in the amount of $500,000 for the purpose of completing environmental site assessment work on brownfield properties in Toledo. The City and Project Partners have identified three target areas: Swan Creek, Vistula Lowertown and East Toledo corridors. Additional sites outside target areas are also eligible for assessment funding. The City will enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. EPA.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a Brownfield Community -Wide Assessment grant agreement with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
