SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
First Energy is gifting the Department of Fire and Rescue (26) V-Watches, valued at $11,313.64, to serve members as personal voltage detectors that audibly and visibly alerts in increasing frequency as energized hazards near. Accordingly, V-Watches have provided First Energy employees with a valuable layer of protection, which, due to this donation and Council's support, will also provide similar, and much appreciated, protections for department personnel.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept a charitable gift of (26) V-Watches from First Energy valued at $11,313.64.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely support the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department.
Vote on emergency clause: yeas 12, nays 0.
Passed: October 24, 2023, as an emergency measure: yeas 12, nays 0.
