SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
WHEREAS, Ordinance 163-01 in 2001 designated that portion of St. Clair Street from Washington to Monroe Street as Msgr. Jerome Schmit Way and;
WHEREAS, a request was presented by Claudia Vercellotti and SNAP, to the Board of Honor to remove the sign; and
WHEREAS, The Board of Honor met twice, once on May 7, 2026 and once on June 18th and by a 3-2 vote recommended the removal of the sign.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That this Council does hereby declare the portion of St. Clair Street from Washington to Monroe Street no longer be designated as Msgr. Jerome Schmit Way and the sign be removed.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
