SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
In order to enhance the City of Toledo’s communication, branding, and operational efficiency, the Department of Communications is establishing an official City of Toledo Online Store. This program will allow the City to sell approved branded merchandise through an online storefront. This proposal was formally advertised seeking proposals from qualified vendors and the lowest and best has been selected.
Proceeds from the sale of these items will be deposited into the Employee Engagement Trust Fund to be used for employee engagement activities.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a one-year contract with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms to establish an online branded merchandise store, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Communications and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect immediately upon passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the need to promptly establish the online store to support employee engagement.
