SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Reynolds Area Pumping Station located at 4150 Airport Hwy, Toledo Ohio pumps sanitary sewage from approximately 7,000 business and residential properties in South Toledo. Recent drive failures have left the station without redundant capacity. Existing drives are obsolete and cannot be serviced. Restoring redundant capacity will require installation of new drives. The work is underway and the contractor has provided a not to exceed price to complete the work.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $400,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Sewer Replacement Fund to Account Code 6073-36000-4UC3024STDSTD for emergency drive repair project at the Reynolds Area Pumping Station and the expenditure of the same amount is authorized.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an emergency contract with Romanoff for emergency drive repair at the Reynolds Area Pumping Station, upon terms and conditions approved by the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City that the competitive provisions of TMC Chapter 187 are waived for the reason that Romanoff Electric Company LLC was immediately ready to proceed with emergency services to install replacement drives for Pumps 1 and 3 at the Reynolds Area Pumping Station.
