SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ordinance 514-17 authorized the Mayor to enter into a professional services agreement for the development of the initial phase of an implementation plan for the conversion of city street lights to LED technology and an analysis of the cost benefit of investing in "smart technologies" associated with lighting upgrades. Proposals for this service have been reviewed an evaluated and the city would like to move forward with this project. This Ordinance requests the authorization to reappropriate $48,000 in the Special Assessment Fund for this purpose. Funds will be reallocated from the current approved budget for electric costs to professional services.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the sum of $48,000 is disappropriated from the Special Assessment Fund Account Code 3050-11200-534100-2424004STDSTD and the appropriation and expenditure of same is authorized to 3050-11200-537400-2424004STDSTD for the development of the initial phase of an implementation plan for the conversion of city street lights to LED technology and an analysis of the cost benefit of investing in "smart technologies" associated with lighting upgrades.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with a Palmer Energy Company for consulting services related to the LED street lighting project.

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
