Recognizing Toledo Celtics 2006 Boys Soccer Team.
Summary
WHEREAS, the Toledo Celtics 2006 Boys Soccer Team is comprised of athletes born in 2006; and
WHEREAS, these young men are currently in their Junior and Senior years of high school, all rostered on their respective varsity soccer teams; and
WHEREAS, on July 6 through 12, 2023, the Toledo Celtics competed in the prestigious National Premier League (NPL) finals in Denver, Colorado, which included sixteen of the best teams, all regional winners, across the country; and
WHEREAS, in order to qualify for the NPL finals, the Toledo Celtics finished first in the Midwest Developmental League, with a record of 9 wins, 1 tie, and 0 losses, as well as finishing strongly in several major regional tournaments during the season; and
WHEREAS, as part of this remarkable team, these young men have established strong friendships, learned the value of teamwork and sportsmanship, lessons they will carry throughout their lives; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Toledo City Council does hereby recognize the Toledo Celtics 2006 Boys Soccer Team for their hard work, teamwork and achievements and wish them continued success in the future.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
