SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Department of Homeland Security has awarded the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department an FY2025 Port Security Grant Program totaling $23,500 to support increased port-wide risk management and protect critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies.

The award supports equipment purchases relating to the targeted sustainment of Specialty Teams in the City of Toledo and other state, local, and private sector maritime stakeholders.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit a grant from the Department of Homeland Security FY 2025 Port Security Grant Program totaling $23,500 into the Operation Grants Fund Account Code 2016-53000-3G00417STDSTD to purchase equipment related to port-wide risk management and protecting critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $23,500 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-53000-3G00417STDSTD and further authorizing expenditure of the same for the purposes authorized in Section 1.
