Title

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Division of Water Treatment has an immediate need to secure a replacement vendor to provide transportation and lawful disposal services for spent lime generated at the Division's Spent Lime Dewatering Facility. These services are required on an interim basis until a formal competitive bidding process can be completed and a long-term contract awarded. Timely removal of spent lime is critical to the continued operation of the Dewatering Facility. Funding for these services is available within the Water Operating Fund.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into contract(s) and to execute all documents necessary and proper to facilitate the emergency services for transporting and disposing of spent Lime at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant Dewatering Facility upon terms and conditions approved by the Director of Public Works and the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $750,000 from the Water Operating Fund Account Code 6060-32000-4000503STDSTD is authorized for the emergency services for transporting and disposing of spent lime at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant Dewatering Facility.
