SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes an expenditure not to exceed $50,000 annually for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the fire alarm system and related components at the Water Reclamation Facility.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a one year contract with the option to renew for three additional one-year terms with Johnson Controls for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the fire alarm system and related components at the Water Reclamation Facility upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law and Director of Public Utilities.
SECTION 2. That subject to annual appropriation, the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $50,000 annually is authorized from the Sewer Operating Fund, Account Code 6070-36000-4000507STDSTD for the purpose stated in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That this Council finds and determines it is in the best interest of the City to waive the competitive procurement provisions of TMC Chapter 187 for the reason that the fire alarm system has proprietary equipment and the current vendor is best suited to continue maintaining the subject system.
SECTION 4. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above Account Code and for the purpose authorized above upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers in an amount not to exceed $50,000 annually.
