Title
Authorizing and expressing City Council's support for the Mayor to prepare and submit applications to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission, State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs and to execute agreements as necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance; and declaring an emergency.
Summary
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Both the State Capital Improvement Program and Local Transportation Improvement Program provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital improvements to public infrastructure. The infrastructure improvements detailed and delineated in Section 1 are considered to be priority needs for the community and are qualified projects under these Ohio Public Works Commission Programs. Passage of this legislation is procedurally required to allow the City of Toledo to apply for this capital improvement funding.
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved that:
SECTION 1. That this Council supports the Mayor's applications to the Ohio Public Works Commission for funds for the following described projects:
Lawrence Avenue from Dorr to Bancroft
Glanzman Road from Byrne to Detroit
Delaware Avenue from Detroit to Collingwood
South Expressway Drive from Stickney to Manhattan
Arco Drive from South to Hill
Westwood from Hill to RR (1200' South of Hill)
Large Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation
Sanitary Sewer Replacement
Sewer Lining
Storm Sewer Replacement
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into any agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining such financial assistance upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of Transportation and the Director of Law.
