SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Elevance Health, inc. is pleased to announce the award to Toledo Fire and Rescue in the amount of $13,223.43 for purchase of a Point of Care Ultra Sound (POCUS).
EMS agencies frequently respond to 911 calls for cardiac arrests. Many times, it is difficult to establish whether or not cardiac activity is present before, during, or after Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The absence of cardiac activity for a period of time is an indicator if survivability is likely. A POCUS will allow providers to confirm whether cardiac activity exists. This will allow providers valuable information regarding if they should proceed with resuscitation efforts.
