SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance is regarding a contract for the purchase of safety shoes city-wide. This contract was competitively bid, and it was determined that Saf-Guard Safety Shoes had the best shoe pricing and customer service experience offers for non-public safety employees. This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into a contract with Saf-Guard Safety Shoes for the purchase of safety shoes.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award a contract for the purchase of safety shoes as obligated by bargaining agreements for City of Toledo employees. Such contract shall be for up to two (2) years with an option to renew for up to one (1) additional year.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of funds is authorized against proper appropriations set forth in the operating budget, or such other appropriations as the Council may make, and no purchase shall be made unless there is adequate appropriation therefore.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw his warrant or warrants against in payment of the obligations authorized above upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to meet bargaining agreem...
