SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Collins Park Water Treatment Plant has an advanced Homeland Security surveillance system that was installed by Siemens Industry, Inc. This surveillance system provides access control, monitors the facility's perimeters, monitors the safety of the facility's operations and equipment, observes HazMat incidents, checks security breaches and ensures a safe work environment for personnel and the safety of our water supply. Software for control, integration and management of the security system is proprietary and can be purchased only from Siemens Industry, Inc., who installed, configured and maintain the current security system and certifications. In order to maintain ongoing reliable operation of the system, the CCURE and Aegis software needs to be upgraded to the latest operating systems and software levels. Currently these packages are outdated and obsolete and the manufacturer's support of these systems will be suspended by December 31, 2018.
