SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The federal government has issued guidance related to improving cybersecurity resilience against cyber-attacks which pose a significant threat to the systems that operate, monitor and collect data from both treatment plants, including the conduct of assessments by qualified subject matter experts to identify and correct vulnerabilities. The assessment will include scans to identify potential embedded threats and services to configure and test out technology intended to allow secure access to system data.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into agreements for information technology security consulting services to assess the Water Treatment and Water Reclamation plants operating technology cyber security and make recommendations for improvements and on-going monitoring, to be contracted through the use of cooperative or collaborative procurement programs.
SECTION 2. That an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $38,520 is authorized from the Water Operating Fund, Account Code 6060-32000-4000500STDSTD and an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $18,000 is authorized from the Sewer Operating Fund, Account Code 6070-36000-4000507STDSTD for the services authorized in Section 1.
