SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo has been selected to host a Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow beginning in July 2026. The Fellowship program places recent graduates of Harvard master's and professional degree programs in paid, full-time, two-year fellowships in city halls across the United States to support local governments in addressing complex municipal challenges.
The grant awarded by Harvard will be used to cover the Fellow's salary, fringe benefits, and housing, relocation, and subscription stipends in an amount not to exceed $300,000. Fellows' salaries are set by Harvard, and fringe benefits will be provided by the City and reimbursed by the grant up to the equivalent of 33.1% of total first-year compensation.

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into and execute a Bloomberg City Leadership Initiative grant agreement with and to accept and deposit financial assistance from the President and Fellows of Harvard College acting through the Bloomberg City Leadership Initiative (Harvard) in an amount not to exceed $300,000 into Account Code 2016-10200-1G00031STDSTD upon such terms and conditions as approved by the Director of Law.
