SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The city of Toledo has a lease agreement with Lake Erie Golf Cars, LLC ("Lake Erie Golf") to provide golf carts for the city's municipal golf courses. Three carts leased by the city were recently stolen. Per the terms of the lease, a proposed agreement has been reached to purchase three like-for-like replacement carts from Lake Erie Golf at a cost of $14,700, or $4,900 per cart. Purchase of the replacement carts will satisfy the city's obligation under the lease regarding lost equipment.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $14,700 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-40100-7741001STDSTD for the purchase of replacement golf carts.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants to Lake Erie Golf Cars in the sum of $14,700 against the above Account Code upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to purchase the replacement carts in a timely manner.
