Recycling Audit

9/15/2026

Title

From:   Councilman Driscoll                      Response Requested:                      ASAP

What section of the Climate action Plan does this audit plan to address?

Body

Referral Response:

The proposed audit is an expanded scope of the task 4.9 “perform periodic audits of the municipal waste stream” in the Climate Action Plan.  Rather than limit the audit to our internal waste stream we are looking at a much larger volume waste.  The resulting impact of improvements to this waste stream will be equally magnified.

Objective 3 of the City’s strategic plan calls for reducing residential recycling contamination.  By expanding the scope of task 4.9 we are able to address a strategic objective while also increasing the impact of the proposed task in the CAP.
